The University of Rochester SPIE Student Chapter promotes the discipline of optical science and engineering, disseminates knowledge of the field of optical engineering, and furthers the professional development of students at the University. The SPIE University of Rochester Student Chapter was founded in May 2009: a much-needed student organization that brings together graduate students with common interests in optics and/or imaging across the University. Inspired by the interdisciplinary nature of SPIE we have reached out to students from optics, biomedical engineering, physics, medical center, chemical engineering, and computer science. Our chapter currently has more than 70 members.
