Position Description:
The Parts Technician is responsible for the activities involved in disassembling mainly CT and MRI diagnostic imaging systems. The technician will identify each part using technical manuals, log the parts either onto a spreadsheet or into a database and inventory each component. Duties include, but are not limited to: inspecting components, verifying quality, packing, labeling and comparing and identifying information and counts. Basic shipping and receiving skills are also required.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Lead in the tear down of company owned imaging equipment
- Safely remove parts from the system and identify each part with part number and associated serial number.
- Ensure that the parts are properly packaged, labeled, tracked, recorded, and entered into Nationwide’s inventory management system
- Assist in inventory activities: cycle counts, receiving, and physical movement of materials
- Pack, seal, label, and affix postage to prepare materials and products for shipping utilizing devices such as hand tools, power tools, postage meters, etc. when required
- Prepare documents such spreadsheets for uploading information into the inventory management system
- Pull parts from inventory shelves and bins for shipping to both internal and external customers
- Ensure that parts are clean and undamaged before shipment
- Confer and correspond with established representatives to rectify problems such as damages, shortages, and nonconformance to specifications
- Requisition and store shipping materials and supplies to maintain appropriate inventory of stock
- Continually expand knowledge of different types of OEM CT/MRI systems and individual parts in order to ensure that materials and products are correctly identified
- Continually improve processes and work flow
- Adhere to the Company’s Quality System standards and procedures and ensure that customer requirements are met
- Participates on an on-call rotation schedule, this includes weekends
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Education
Required
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Preferred
- Some college desired
Experience
- 3+ years direct experience in the safe usage of hand and power tools.
- Inventory Control experience desirable
- Knowledge and hands-on experience in the packing and shipment of medical devices
Travel
- Valid and active driver’s license
- Must have reliable transportation and proof of auto insurance
- Willing and able to undertake after-hours travel to carrier offices, drop-boxes, and airports

- High mechanical aptitude and experience with using various tools properly
- Proficient in basic MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook)

Physical Requirements
- Able to lift up to 75 pounds regularly throughout the day
- Able to lift up to 100 pounds on occasion
- Able to stoop, sit, stand, bend, crouch and climb
- Able to operate a forklift or to be certified to operate a forklift within 8 weeks of hire
- Able to work in a regulated medical environment and warehouse conditions
