The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
● Valid Wisconsin teaching certificate (Social Studies/History/English/Biology/Chemistry/Math/Phy Ed/Health,/Alternative Ed grades 9-12)
● Commitment to social justice and culturally and linguistically responsive practices
● Commitment to teaching the whole child (academics and social emotional learning) with an assets-based lens
● Ability to embed differentiation in daily instruction to meet the needs of a wide range of students
● Commitment to collaboration and reflection within a school community dedicated to continuous improvement
● Commitment to continued development of cultural competence
● Ability to adjust instruction based on formative assessment data
● Ability to communicate effectively to form partnerships with families.
● Ability to reflect on practice
● Bilingual candidates (Spanish/English) are strongly preferred
Summer School Responsibilities:
● Work with summer school colleagues to establish a welcoming, assets-based community.
● Implement summer school curriculum and philosophy
● Collaborate with colleagues and families to support students who are struggling to attend regularly or are struggling with engagement
● Ensure assessments and data collection are completed in a timely manner.
● Return technology and other supplies
