Clinton’s Ditch an independent bottler of PepsiCo Products is looking for a Quality and Food Safety Specialist. This position would be great for a graduating senior or a recent grad.
It will help run our Food Safety Program at our Plant, work with our QA Team, production and outside auditors to make sure we are maintaining our food safety regs.
This position is located in Cicero, NY (Syracuse, NY Area) and requires you to be onsite every day. It’s a 1st Shift Role – but the hours can be flexible. 6:00 am to 2:30 pm | 6:30 to 3:00 pm | 7:00 am to 4:00pm
This position is responsible for leading and/or completing food safety projects and tasks in a timely manner and summarizing results in a coherent manner. This position will report to the Quality Assurance & Food Safety Manager.
Major Responsibilities:
· A strong knowledge of Quality Systems and manufacturing capabilities.
· Investigate consumer complaints and document results.
· Develop and update procedures that are easily understood by the appropriate audience.
· Compile end-of-the-month reports as required.
· An active participant in audits by internal teams and external agencies, as required or requested.
· Follow-up/post-audits occur to validate action plan completion
· Help support the Food Safety Management System (FSMS) and remain prepared for FSSC 22000 audits and regulatory inspections.
· Will work closely with other departments within the company to provide guidance and support.
· Creates reports detailing current performance
· Provide training to employees in all departments
· Food Safety Training and compliance tracking.
· Interacts with Managers daily to ensure accurate data is being reported.
· Strong sense of urgency, organization, and outstanding prioritization skills
· Proven ability to work with little to no supervision, and meet tight deadlines.
· File maintenance and administrative support within the location
· Perform other tasks assigned by the Quality Assurance & Food Safety Manager.
Skills/Knowledge:
· Must possess good interpersonal skills, including being able to plan and delegate instructions to people. Must be able to communicate clearly to different departments
· Knowledge of food safety, HACCP, and appropriate supporting programs (e.g. cleaning, sanitation, pest management, etc.) is required.
· Knowledge of manufacturing processes and GMP requirements.
· Knowledge of ISO standards and systems, including ISO 22000 and FSMA.
· Excellent computer skills in Microsoft 365*
· Ability to motivate and lead teams, also act as a backup for the QA supervisor as needed.
Education: A minimum of an associate degree in food science, Food Manufacturing, Biology, or other Science-based degrees. Also, a combination of education and experience in HACCP, GMP’s and quality principles will be considered.
Experience:
PCQI, HACCP, GMP, food safety, non-GMO and allergen plans, and sanitation.
