Job Title: Senior Counselor (Part Time, Non-Exempt, Temporary)
Hiring Range: $16.00 an hour
Job Summary:
The Senior Counselor assists the Camp Director with daily camp activities and the Parent programs. The Senior Counselor is responsible for the daily routine of their assigned group of campers. The Senior Counselor reports directly to the Camp Director.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plans and executes daily table activity with campers
- Attends staff training
- Assists with Parent/Camper Orientation Night and Family Celebration Programs
- Responsible for group of campers throughout camp day
- Assists Camp Director with supervision of all campers
- Participates in daily staff meetings during Camp session
- Works with Camp Director, as needed, in implementing individual behavioral modification plans
- Participate in daily morning program
- Participates in all camp activities
- Performs other related duties as required by Camp Director.
Skills Required:
- Ability to work with children, adolescents as well as adults
- Positive image for CAPTAIN CHS and a dedicated youth advocate.
- Able to multi-task and work in a team environment.
- Patience, flexibility and good communication skills
Qualifications:
- High School Graduate
- Volunteer or employment experience working with children grades 1 – 6
- Ability to lift and carry 30 lbs.
- Ability to participate in camp recreational activities
- Employment contingent upon successful background check including NYS Central Registry of Child Abuse and Maltreatment
Telecommuting and Remote Work: This position is not eligible for Remote Work.
