Assette is a fast-growing Boston-based fintech firm that turns investment data into marketing, sales and client communications content. Our cloud-native software is used by leading investment firms in North America and Europe. We are looking for a sales engineer to grow our client base and revenue (at Assette, sales engineers are responsible for the entire sales cycle, from engaging with inbound leads to closing sales).
As part of a growing team this role will have access and impact across the organization.
Duties include:
- Understand sales and client communication content needs of investment management firms, including regulatory disclosure needs, multi-language and multi-currency needs.
- Effectively demonstrate Assette software and how it automates content, taking into account specific needs and nuances of each firm. This includes showing both the user-facing side as well as the developer-oriented “data plumbing” side.
- Initiate and orchestrate proof-of-concepts, including helping potential clients interface with data via Assette’s data blocks technology which uses Python to connect to databases, APIs, Snowflake, and any other source. Assette follows an “experience it first” approach where we want prospective buyers to experience our software earlier in the sales cycle.
- Keep prospective client firms moving down the path to purchase with follow ups, answering questions and alleviating concerns.
- Coordinate RFP responses, provide pricing quotes and coordinating to execute contracts.
- Work with product management team to share market insights and enhancement ideas.
- Travel to visit firms and participate in conferences where we exhibit. Includes travel overseas (mainly Europe). Expect about 10-20% of time.
Requirements:
A BS or MS in information systems, business analytics or similar.
At least basic working knowledge of Python and/or SQL.
For this client-facing role, candidate must have excellent communication skills (written, spoken and presentation).
Preferred:
Ideally some experience with investment or financial data.
2+ years of experience in a client facing or sales role.
