About Access Distributed:
Access Distributed helps students at non-target schools break into finance careers in business. As an organization, our experience and partners give our fellows the skills they need to successfully access internships and entry-level positions in high-powered careers, allowing them to start their career on successful and high-potential footing. We leverage the latest technology for distributed teams to ensure we can reach them no matter where or who they are.
The Role:
Five years ago, Access Distributed launched with its inaugural Investment Banking track with 13 fellows. For the 2023 – 2024 school year, we launched our fifth cohort with 50 fellows. The organization has grown from three admin staff to thirteen, hired our first full-time Executive Director, and welcomed two new firms to our Partner Program. As we embark on our next phase of growth, we are looking to find a new leader to take the organization to the next level.
The Executive Director is responsible for the overall management of Access Distributed including: implementing the strategic direction of the Board; management of personnel; fundraising; innovation and program development; public relations, and partnerships. The Executive Director will expand on the foundation that has been laid for all of these efforts, growing and scaling Access Distributed.
We’ll be a dispersed team. Comp will include competitive pay and the usual benefits.
Responsibilities:
The executive director will be responsible for both internal and external tasks:
Internal Responsibilities
- Overseeing execution of fellowship for students, supporting them in their growth

- Finding education resources and partners
- Leading the mentor recruiting & matching efforts
- Refining the AD application process and leading the selection process
- Managing the program managers to manage day to day tasks
External Responsibilities
- Stewarding relationships with existing partners, ensuring program objectives are met and deliverables are accurate and completed in accordance with defined timelines
- Securing new partnerships with industry-leading firms likely to fund or hire fellows

- Tracking and continuing to support alumni
Reporting Relationships:
The Executive Director reports to the Access Distributed Advisory Board and to the fiscal sponsor, The Social Good Fund. The ED directly supervises all administrative staff members.
Candidates:
The ideal candidate has, above all, a desire to pay it forward and go above and beyond to provide opportunities that fellows couldn’t source themselves. In addition, a candidate should have experience operating and recruiting for or fundraising for an entrepreneurial venture. A candidate should be looking for a new entrepreneurial experience and should have the ability to adapt quickly to new challenges. Other qualities include:
- Have 2+ years of professional experience
- Describe yourself as resilient, humble, and intellectually curious
- Are described by others as a leader, mentor, and a team player
- Are results-oriented and have a bias towards action
- Have an operations background
The Team and Culture:
Our vision for our workplace is clear: we will be a place where a diverse mix of talented people want to come, stay, and do their best work. Diversity, equity, and inclusion are fundamental to how we think about growing our team and working together as one. We are creating a respectful environment where we can learn from and celebrate each other’s differences.
