The Future of 3D Technology: A Conversation with a Game Developer
What does it take to develop technology that changes how we experience video games and virtual worlds?Join us for a special conversation with Ken Silverman, a pioneering video game programmer and creator of the influential Build engine, the technology behind classic games including Duke Nukem 3D, Shadow Warrior, and Blood. Silverman’s career spans decades of innovation in game development, computer graphics, programming, and 3D visualization. From developing game engines as a young programmer to exploring emerging technologies in volumetric displays, his work offers a unique perspective on creativity, technical problem-solving, and turning ambitious ideas into reality.Students will have an opportunity to learn about his experiences, explore the evolution of game development and computer graphics, and ask questions about his work and career. All students are welcome, particularly those interested in digital media, video game development, computer science, engineering, optics, and emerging technologies.
