We are currently looking for an Applications Engineer who will be based out of our Chestnut Ridge, NY office to provide Technical Support of our Test and Measurement products (oscilloscopes and arbitrary waveform generators) to our customers and sales team. You will collaborate with Customer Service and our Repair Service Team to insure seamless support and function as key liaison between Product Managers and Sales team and customers.
- Provide technical support via telephone, e-mail, customer visit, trade show, or training courses.
- Understand and be able to discuss Teledyne LeCroy product specifications.
- Work with customers and/or sales engineers in specifying the appropriate product and measurement technique.
- Work hands on with electronics applications with an emphasis on measurements
- Identify and highlight common technical problems. Initiate corrective action process working with Marketing and/or Sales organization.
- Learn and be able to discuss the advantages and disadvantages of competitive products.
- Ability to interface with design engineering on resolving customer issues.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science with a minor in Electrical Engineering
- Must be able to work with customers and sales engineers in specifying appropriate product and measurement techniques.
- Familiarity with computer applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint; Matlab, and VisualBasic or VisualC++ programming languages.
- Excellent communication and writing skills required. Should be able to write, edit, and support application notes and presentations.
- Have a deep seated interest in electronics.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
- Training will be provided.
- Occasional travel for training and/or customer visits.
Familiarity with the following is ideal but not required:
- Knowledge of electronics applications and working knowledge of third party integration software such as MATLAB, LabVIEW, LabWindows/CVI and similar programs.
- Knowledge of MATLAB, and VisualBasic or VisualC++ programming languages is essential.
- Ability to integrate products into systems, including remote control via GPIB, USB, LAN or LXI.
