Register for CASC 104: Designing Your Life 

No matter what stage you’re at in your journey or what interests you may have, the Greene Center’s exploratory 1-credit course, CASC 104: Designing Your Life, could be a great option for you. The course is specially designed to provide a little more structure and support for you to explore your interests, to make sense of the resources and opportunities available at Rochester, and to begin crafting career goals that are unique to your interests and experiences. A Health Professions-specific and Engineering section will be offered as well. With fall semester registration coming up, we encourage students interested in this course to speak with their college advisors. Learn more about the course here.

Aviation Industry with Dawne Hickton | Wegmans Hall, Room 1400 | Wednesday, April 17th, 2024 at 6pm to 7pm  

Curious about aviation, what it takes to be a CEO, or what it’s like to work in the engineering/business industries? Join in for a conversation with Dawne Hickton, former CEO of RTI International Metals (a major titanium manufacturer), later Executive Vice President and President at Jacobs (a major engineering firm), and now CEO of Cumberland Additive, Inc (an innovative specialty metals additive manufacturing company) to hear more about her experiences. Food and drinks will be provided. Students that attend will also receive a free Aviation Weekly Subscription!

Los Alamos National Laboratory | CCS Internship Program

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions):

  • Computational Physics and Methods conducts research in numerical methods and algorithms, physical model development, and software engineering.
  • Information Sciences engages in a wide variety of basic and applied research activities that are directly applicable to core needs.
  • Statistical Sciences provides statistical reasoning and rigor to multidisciplinary scientific investigation and the development, application, and communication of cutting-edge statistical sciences research.
  • Applied Computer Science is to be the vanguard for scientific simulations at extreme scale through the co-design of applications, algorithms, and architectures.

Operations Intern at CRH | Expires-May 6th, 2024

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions):

  • Support operations with daily administrative tasks
  • Coordinate the activities of employees engaged in production.
  • Confer with other supervisors to coordinate operations and activities within or between departments.
  • Plan and establish work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet production goals.

Software Development Intern / Co-op | Expires-May 31st, 2024

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions):

  • This opportunity is for: Summer and/or Fall 2024 (if possible, we encourage double blocks).
  • This position is available for students who intend to graduate on or before December 2025.
  • Students with the following majors: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Video Game Design, Electrical and Computer Engineering, and other related majors.
  • Pay range is $27-$30/hr, depending upon academic semesters completed and previous work experience.
