April 10th – April 11th | Want to explore more careers in STEM?

Join us for a presentation and discussion on, “Patent Law Careers for People with STEM Degrees,” with Anna Verderame ’06 and Nicholas Stadnyk ’08. If you are curious, please don’t let “Patent Law” stop you from exploring and learning more, there are careers in this field that do not require a law degree. Would you be interested in helping inventors protect their inventions with patents? Patent law careers are an exciting alternative for people with STEM degrees that may not be interested in a career in academia, industry, or medicine. There are a variety of patent law careers, and several do not require a law degree. This presentation discusses the following: (1) the process of obtaining and enforcing patents; (2) roles that people with STEM degrees can play in this process; and (3) the additional degrees and/or certifications required for certain roles. This opportunity is brought to you by the Greene Center for Career Education and Connections, UofR National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE), and the Department of Chemistry.
