Hello Healthcare Community! We hope you all had a wonderful Spring Break, and that you were able to get at least a little rest with your busy schedules! This week, we have lots of opportunities for you to explore various healthcare careers, whether you want to go into medicine, dentistry, physical therapy, and more.

Greene Center and Career Community Programs

Pre-Dental Information Session | March 19 from 4:30pm-5:30pm in the Greene Center Conference Room, Dewey Hall

Join the Pre-Dental Club and the Greene Center to learn about how you can prepare for a career as a dentist! We will be talking about planning as a pre-dental student, ways to engage within the community, the Health Committee Letter, and how the Greene Center can help you prepare for dental school and dental school applications. Greene Center Employer Challenge | Friday, March 22 to Friday, March 29 in Rettner 307

The Greene Center Employer Challenge brings together School of Arts & Sciences and Hajim School of Engineering and Applied Sciences students from a variety of disciplines to brainstorm solutions to a employer-generated problem that is timely, impactful, and of value to the organization in a week-long challenge. Students will gain work-ready skills and competencies sought after by employers including teamwork, problem-solving, and communication! Cash prizes will be awarded to the top teams! Register here as an individual or as a team. All teams must have representation of at least two different disciplines/majors. By registering, students commit to the following:

  • Attend the Kick-Off Event on Friday, March 22nd, 3-5PM (Rettner 307)
  • Develop an actionable plan and pitch in response to the challenge statement
  • 1 team representative to attend the Employer Q&A on Tuesday, March 26th, 4-5PM (Zoom)
  • Present the plan during the competition event on Friday, March 29th, 3-5:30PM (iZone)

The World Pre-Health Conference, Virtual | Apply by March 18 to attend virtually April 12-April 14

If you want to learn more about what MD admissions officers are looking for, present your research, plan a public health campaign, or compete in a bioethics hackathon, apply to participate in the World Pre-Health Conference. With those hands-on learning experiences and panels covering global health, art and medicine, medicine and Hollywood, and dual degrees, this is a great opportunity to learn. Data Science Intern – Health Metrics, Remote | Applications Due May 24, 2024

University of Delaware Physical Therapy (UDPT) Open House | May 4, 12:30pm to 3pm, Virtual 

The UDPT Open House provides prospective students and families an opportunity to learn more about our Doctor of Physical Therapy Program, and have their questions answered by faculty and current DPT students. The agenda includes a Q&A and program overview and a panel discussion with current DPT students. If you would like to attend virtually, make sure to choose the Zoom option when registering here!
