Job and Internship Opportunities

Foreign Government Procurement Advocacy Intern at U.S. Department of Commerce | International Trade Administration | The Advocacy Center – APPLY BY 3/18/24

Are you an undergraduate or graduate student interested in international business or foreign affairs? The U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC) Advocacy Center wants you! The DOC Advocacy Center (AC) is offering remote and in-person internships for the Summer 2024 semester, where interns will work from wherever they are located on their own personal computers. (Washington, DC-based interns would also have the option to work at least partially onsite from DOC Headquarters, based on agreement with your supervisor). Students may do the internship for class credit if allowed by your school.

Rodel Institute Internship – APPLY BY 3/11/24

The Rodel Institute Internship Program is a summer professional development opportunity for undergraduates, graduate students, and recent graduates. Rodel interns will work with smart and committed colleagues doing important work to advance Rodel’s mission of strengthening American democracy. Rodel interns will have the opportunity to support the Institute’s four fellowship programs.

Policy Intern at Justice in Motion – APPLY BY 3/28/2024

Justice in Motion protects migrant rights by ensuring justice across borders. The Government & Policy intern will work under the supervision of the Policy Advocacy Manager on projects that will support policy advocacy to promote justice across borders, achieve greater transparency in the temporary foreign worker visa system, and create educational materials on transnational justice for a wide audience. Justice in Motion is
looking for a candidate who is seeking research and writing experience in the reform of the U.S. immigration system, including temporary foreign work visas, asylum, and family immigration/migration.

Scholarship Opportunity!

John H. Berman Memorial Award at University of Rochester – APPLY BY 04/15/2024

If you are a senior who plans to attend law school in Fall 2024, apply for the John H. Berman Memorial Award! The award of approximately $6000 will go to a graduating senior who “demonstrates the self-motivation, achievement, leadership, concern for others, reliability, and commitment to high moral principles” that characterized Mr. Berman’s life. Mr. Berman was a highly esteemed attorney and UR graduate who practiced law for 57 years. The award is endowed through contributions from Mr. Berman’s widow, his friends, and the law firm of Woods Oviatt Gilman, LLP where Mr. Berman practiced for 6 years until his death. Students may apply for the award or be nominated by faculty or staff members. Applications are to be submitted through Handshake.
