Eye Opener Sessions | Virtual Mentorship Program

Eye Opener Sessions is a program designed to connect students who are curious about optometry with practicing eye doctors (a.k.a. optometrists or ODs). It’s a student-engagement program that will match an OD with a like-minded student. Start by signing up for the program here. Once you sign up, you will be asked a few questions before being matched with an OD as your mentor.

Medtronic Former Intern Panel | Wednesday, March 6, 3-4pm on Zoom

Are you curious what it is like to be an Intern at Medtronic? Join our Former Intern Panel to ask all the questions you have to some people who have completed an internship with us. We will break into some groups so you can get more face time with the former interns!

Emergency Department Research Associate (EDRA) Program | Applications Due Friday, March 22 at noon

Undergraduate students of all years and majors can apply for the Emergency Department Research Associate Program’s fall 2024 internship. Structured as a four-credit course through the Department of Public Health, the internship combines classroom instruction with hands-on experience in the Emergency Department to develop competencies in the mechanics of clinical research, including topics on research design, human subjects protections, and informed consent. Clinical Research Coordinator, Massachusetts General Hospital | Applications Rolling

The Center for Rare Neurological Diseases at Massachusetts General Hospital seeks an exceptional candidate for this Clinical Research Coordinator position to implement and coordinate a variety of human research studies, ranging from natural history studies to translational/interventional trials. We focus on single gene disorders where a single gene defect is sufficient to cause disability and suffering. The clinical research coordinator will receive training and support from current study staff, as well as guidance and supervision of the Principal Investigator. We seek an enthusiastic candidate who is eager to work collaboratively with other study staff, physician mentors, industry partners, nonprofit advocacy groups, and especially our patients with rare diseases. The position offers significant learning opportunities, the chance to work directly with research subjects during study visits, and exposure to the implementation of a research protocol from start to finish. Our research coordinators are involved in every step of this process, from initial study design to coordination of study visits, data collection, correspondence with the IRB and study sponsors, and eventually data analysis.

CHeT Outcomes Research Coordinator, Rochester, NY | Applications Due March 22, 2024

In this role, you will plan, coordinate, conduct, and implement research activities associated with patient and caregiver reported outcomes. These responsibilities include interaction with study sponsor, recruitment partners, and patients. You will also interpret research data at the completion of each phase of instrument development and at completion of study milestones creates written summaries with tables and figures for distribution to study sponsors and for presentation at various industry events.

Specifically, some of your responsibilities will include coordinating subject recruitment, interviews, and data, researching grant opportunities, and conducting analysis on data. This is a great option for seniors, so to learn more and apply, check out the job posting here.
