Humanities for Life Summer Internships – Apply by February 25, 2024

The 2024 Humanities for Life (HFL) Summer Internship Program, funded by a gift from Schwartz Community-Based Internships, connects students to paid internship opportunities with non-profit organizations in the Rochester area. These internships help students access traditionally unpaid opportunities that highlight the value of the humanities in the workplace while building critical skills such as Adaptability & Resiliency, Career Design & Management, Critical Thinking & Problem Solving, Intercultural & Global Fluency, Leadership, Oral & Written Communication, and Teamwork.

First-year, sophomore and junior students in Arts, Sciences & Engineering at the University of Rochester are eligible to apply, including international students. International Students must apply for CPT through the Greene Center.

Program Benefits:
In addition to securing a full-time summer internship, accepted students join a community of current and past HFL interns, develop a network with all participating organizations, and participate in educational and social programming supported by the Greene Center for Career Education and Connections. In addition, selected HFL interns receive:

  • A $5,000 stipend distributed across the course of the summer months
  • Internship credit with transcript notation (CAS 394i)
  • A dedicated career advisor
  • Three summer excursions

Arthur D. Hellman Litigation Fellowship in Public Interest Law – Apply by January 27, 2024

The Institute for Justice seeks highly motivated rising junior and senior undergraduate students interested in the legal field to intern at IJ as Arthur D. Hellman Fellows in Public Interest Law. The Arthur D. Hellman Fellowship in Public Interest Law is an unparalleled opportunity to gain exposure to the inner workings of a leading national public interest law firm before entering law school. Fellows receive substantive projects throughout their time at IJ and work full time alongside our summer law students at IJ’s headquarters in Arlington, VA. Fellows are invited to participate in all of the summer programming and activities offered to the law students.

Per-Diem Substitutes follow the Teachers’ lesson plans to ensure that instruction stays on track for students.

Public Health AmeriCorps 2023/24: Concrete Safaris  – Apply by February 27, 2024 

Interested in training kids and youth in environmental health literacy and placemaking? Concrete Safaris’ PlacemakingCorps is a grantee of Public Health AmeriCorps and receives funds from its State and National program. Individuals, ages 17+, serve for 2 – 10.5 months exploring a career in public and environmental health and placemaking, while supporting youth development and community building. Through direct service, planning, and leadership of child and youth-centered environmental health service learning projects, AmeriCorps members will gain skills and confidence to develop as leaders. Public Health AmeriCorps members will educate children and youth on environmental health, facilitating implementation of their visions for a healthy neighborhood through gardening, outdoor play, and art interventions for neighbors. Public Health AmeriCorps members will also provide much-needed, local referrals for medical and public health services.

NASDA Summer Public Policy Internship 2024 -Apply by February 9, 2024

The National Association of State Departments of Agriculture (NASDA) is accepting internship applications for Summer 2024. Intern responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: represent NASDA in congressional hearings, conference calls, and other venues, and provide an analysis of these events to policy staff members; manage logistics, provide operational support, and interface with senior state and federal agriculture policymakers in a fast-paced environment during NASDA’s Annual Meeting (Fall) or Winter Policy Conference (Spring); conduct research on various legislative issues of importance to NASDA’s membership.
