Sophomore Internship Night | December 7th from 6pm-7pm in the Feldman Ballroom

The night includes strategies and suggestions for Sophomores to begin and maximize their internship search! You’ll hear from UR Juniors and Seniors about their internship experiences, as well as Greene Center staff with information on Handshake, networking, interview prep, resumes, and more. Co-sponsored by the Greene Center, Sophomore Committee, and the Sophomore Class Council. There will be pizza!! You can check it out and register for it here.

Health Policy and Clinical Research Assistant, Boston, MA | Apply soon to start in Summer 2024

The Orthopaedic and Arthritis Center for Outcomes Research (OrACORe) and the Policy and Innovation eValuation in Orthopaedic Treatments (PIVOT) Center at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School are seeking a full-time Research Assistant to join our multidisciplinary health policy and clinical outcomes research team. As a Research Assistant, you will participate in one or more of these activities: work on conducting health policy evaluations using computer simulation models of chronic diseases (osteoarthritis and HIV) and participate in various clinical research projects within the Centers. You may enroll study subjects, collect data, synthesize literature, assist with the coordination of multi-center clinical trials, and participate in writing sections of both manuscripts and grant proposals. The Center faculty are dedicated to mentoring Research Assistants as they plan careers in medicine, public health, health policy, and related disciplines.

This position is great for students who are interested in pursuing careers in research, medicine, public health, medical economics, and related fields. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis until the position is filled, so take a look at the position here to find out more.

Environmental Health Engagement Coordinator at URMC | Applications due by December 1st

The Environmental Health Engagement Coordinator (EHEC) will implement the strategic activities of the Institute for Human Health and the Environment (IHHE) Engagement Pillar to promote science-informed environmental health solutions in the Rochester region and beyond. Job responsibilities include:

  • Facilitating communication, interaction, involvement, and exchange with diverse professional and community partners to conduct research
  • Partnering on community projects
  • Translating environmental health research
  • Informing policy change, implementation strategy, and evaluation

The position has both strategic and operational responsibilities within the IHHE, and is a great position for individuals with experience in public health, environmental health, applied mixed-methods research/analysis, engagement in the Rochester region/community, and public policy. Community Health Fellowship at Project Horseshoe Farm in AL and CA | Applications due by February 18th, 2024

The Community Health Fellowship is a unique “gap year” opportunity for top recent college graduates from across the country. Since 2009, more than 150 graduates have served as Fellows, and the program continues to grow. Project Horseshoe Farm offers Community Health Fellowship programs in Alabama and California. Alumni consistently express how transformative their Fellowship experience has been, and Fellows go to some of the top medical schools, graduate programs, and nonprofit organizations across the U.S.
