Utility Billing Clerk
We are seeking a dedicated and professional Utility Billing Clerk to join our team. This position requires a customer-focused individual with excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to troubleshoot billing issues effectively. As the first point of contact for customers, you will represent the city with professionalism and courtesy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately process and manage utility bills for residential, commercial, and industrial customers.
- Handle customer inquiries via phone and in person, providing clear and effective solutions.
- Count and process payments with precision and accuracy.
- Troubleshoot billing issues and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Maintain up-to-date records of accounts and transactions.
- Answer phones with a friendly and professional demeanor, ensuring a positive customer experience.
Qualifications:
- Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to handle inquiries in a courteous and efficient manner.
- Strong math skills and experience with handling cash and payments.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve billing issues.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Previous experience in a customer service or billing role is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and billing software preferred.
