Tax Accountant Job description:
We are looking for a Staff Tax Accountant with 3-5+ years experience to join our team! As a tax accountant you will provide tax services including tax return preparation, planning and consulting. We serve individuals, businesses, corporations, trust, estates, partnerships and non-profits. We deal with federal taxes, state taxes, payroll taxes, excise taxes and sales tax. We service clients involved in manufacturing, retail, oil and gas, agriculture, and medical industries.
*Compensation – Negotiable Based on Experience
Duties:
- Preparation of individual and business tax returns of varying complexities
- Preparation of payroll tax returns
- Client accounting services and assistance
- Demonstrate competency in technical skills, work quality, and application of professional standards
- Know and understand the reason for the firm’s policies and procedures
- Participate in training courses to further develop technical skills
- Provide excellent client service by quickly producing quality work and providing attentive service
- Become proficient at tax research, which includes obtaining a knowledge of the firm’s reference sources
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting required. CPA exam eligible preferred
- Experience with current computer tax programs and reporting tools
- Detail and deadline-oriented
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
