Human Resources Assistant/ Generalist

The ideal candidate for this role is a proactive and detail-oriented HR professional with an understanding of HR best practices and employment laws. They possess excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills, enabling them to handle sensitive employee matters with discretion and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide administrative support to the HR department.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation.
Address routine employee and applicant inquiries regarding policies, benefits, and hiring processes, escalating complex matters as needed.
Ensure confidentiality and integrity of HR records, conducting periodic audits for compliance.
Assist in new hire orientation and onboarding programs.
Help plan and coordinate company events, including benefits enrollment, employee recognition, and team-building activities.
Track and document compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training and certifications.
Support the recruitment process by sourcing candidates, conducting interviews, and coordinating hiring efforts.
Assist with disciplinary meetings, investigations, and terminations as needed.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and HR best practices.
Stay updated on HR trends, regulatory changes, and new technologies.
Generate official internal documents, including offer letters, appointment letters, and disciplinary notices.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field required.
Minimum of one year of experience in HR Experience.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
U.S. Citizenship required.
Must hold or be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
SHRM-CP certification
Master’s degree in human resources, Business Administration or related field
Experience in Aerospace & Defense HR is a plus.
Active DoD clearance
Salary Range: $60,000 – $80,000
Travel:
This position will involve little travel
