Exploring Engineering Summer Experiences

Join the Greene Center for an engaging evening designed to help you explore career pathways, gain real-world insights, and build meaningful connections within the engineering and tech communities! Current students and alumni will be sharing their Summer 2026 and past experiences across internships, research opportunities, and full-time roles.Experiences include research at the University of Rochester and from outside institutions through Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REUs), as well as internships and full-time jobs at companies like Tesla, Mattel, the Laboratory for Laser Energetics (LEE), Medtronic, Morgan Stanley, University of Rochester Medicine Motion Labs, and more! The event will begin with a peer-moderated panel discussion where panelists will reflect on their unique career journeys. Topics discussed may include unexpected moments in the job search, important technical and soft skills, determining your next steps, and more. The panel will conclude with a short Q&A where you’ll be able to ask the panelists any follow-up questions. The panelists will come from a range of engineering disciplines and will differ in where they are in their career journey, so this will be beneficial for students who are just starting out or those looking to begin their post-graduation careers. Following the panel, you will take part in an interactive networking session featuring students and alumni as table hosts representing their respective academic departments, along with a scavenger hunt-style activity. This is a “free-roaming” networking experience, meaning you can move from table to table on your own as you complete your scavenger hunt tasks. These tasks are to encourage conversation and engagement. This program is designed to be open to any and all University of Rochester students regardless of race, color, religion, national origin, or sex, and is consistent with all current governing federal and state nondiscrimination law.
