SUMMARY:
The Breakdown Laboratory Technician is responsible to process the products submitted by the customer, ensuring they comply with our quality standards and within the expected due dates. It is expected to communicate obstacles, request proper tools and ensure our internal processes are compliant to ISO 17025.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Must track projects and maintain the project tracking sheets and databases
- Operate X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF) instrumentation
- Provide assistance to other departments as needed
- Perform daily and periodic verifications of assigned test equipment, including XRF instrument
- Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, calibration and minor repairs to assigned instrumentation and
- tools.
- Assist in identifying, developing and implementing process improvements. Initiate recommendations for new
- equipment
- Demonstrate safe work practices in accordance with laboratory and company policies
- Perform routine housekeeping including cleaning of equipment and working areas. Maintain, store and properly
- dispose of materials as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge, Skill, & Abilities
- Knowledge of operation and maintenance of test equipment and tools.
- Knowledge of proper laboratory techniques and protocols
- Ability to record results accurately
- Have good communication skills
- Computer Skills Excel, Microsoft Office/Word
- Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or 2 years of college preferred.
- No previous experience is required

- Work may include standing or sitting for long periods of time
- Lifting associated with shipping and receiving, 50 lbs
