The MCAT will open for 2027 registration on October 20-22 depending on your test center location, so be sure to check here for more information. To learn more about how to register, the AAMC is also hosting a 2027 MCAT Testing Year Update Webinar on Tuesday, October 6 at 3pm ET that will be recorded. Eligible applicants should check out the AAMC Fee Assistance Program to potentially reduce your costs for the MCAT and applying.

Interact with patients, get involved in clinical research, and learn more about the hospital environment as part of the Emergency Department Research Associate (EDRA) Program. Applications are due October 12 at 4pm. For more information, and to apply, click here.

The University of Rochester Medicine Firearm Injury Prevention Program (FIPP) provides information about ways to reduce firearm injury risk, including secure storage options, and distributes gun locks to those attendees who need them. Volunteering at tabling events is a great opportunity for students to learn more about the local community while networking with community groups. If you’re interested in getting involved at upcoming FIPP events then, please email Dr. Jennifer West at Jennifer_West@urmc.rochester.edu.
