Biomedical research is the broad area of science that involves the investigation of the biological process and the cause of disease. Scientists discover ways to prevent ill-health, and to develop beneficial products, medications, and procedures to treat and cure diseases and conditions that cause illness. This research can be carried out in various settings:

  • Industrial research
  • Government agencies
  • Hospitals and medical facilities
  • Non-government institutions
  • Foreign institutions

Gain Experience

You can become involved in research at a variety of levels. These careers will often require you to gain experience early on in your undergraduate career.

    • Ability to work independently or on a multidisciplinary team
