Alumni Connected and Featured Opportunities

Gap Year Opportunity: Project Horseshoe Farm Community Health Fellowship | Applications Due January 18

Project Horseshoe Farms allows fellows to promote and strengthen the health of one of three partner communities (Greensboro, AL, Perry County, AL, and Pomona, CA). Fellows serve as health partners to support seniors, adults living with mental illness, and other vulnerable or isolated individuals. They also volunteer in top notch after school programs and with local schools to help small groups of students, while developing and leading programs at local community centers and volunteering with local supported housing programs and nursing homes.

This experience would be a great fit for students interested in the health professions, public health, medical anthropology, social work, non-profit management, or education, and those who want a transformational experience strengthening a local community. Many students have found this opportunity quite fulfilling as part of their gap year as well, so apply here. Applications are due January 18, but there are rolling deadlines until March 15.
