Join us for an evening with UR Trustee, Ed Hajim, author of On the Road Less Traveled and Island of the Four Ps, and previous chairman of the University of Rochester board. In recognition of his generosity, the University named the Edmund A. Hajim School of Engineering & Applied Sciences in his honor in 2009.
Mr. Hajim will be sharing his perspectives on how to embrace curiosity early in your academic journey, build relationships, and begin to explore pathways that align with your interests and values. While primarily for students who are registered for or previously taken CASC 104 Designing Your Life, Mr. Hajim’s message of exploration, connecting with others, and discovering your path will resonate with all students. This is the first of a three-part series specifically for students looking for employment in the United States. Learn from the Greene Center how to navigate the US Internship & Job Market. In this hour-long session, you’ll learn:

Case Competition: ROC the Project 2025 | Now- November 21st
ROC the Project is an experiential case competition where students develop project management and leadership skills by planning a real project using the Project Management Institute-based methodology. This hands-on opportunity connects students with a local non-profit, allowing them to analyze challenges, propose solutions, and gain real-world experience under the guidance of certified project managers.
This is delivered entirely online and designed with flexibility in mind. Students will engage in short, interactive micro-learning lessons that fit easily into busy schedules. Virtual training sessions are held in the evenings via Zoom, with recordings available for on-demand viewing. Finalized dates and times for live sessions will be announced soon.
Make It Happen Prize 2025–26 | Deadline November 1st at 11:59pm
The Barbara J. Burger iZone Consulting Team are looking for applicants who demonstrate curiosity, creativity, and a commitment to completing the program as they further their projects. The prize offers up to $1,500 in funding for students, faculty, and staff who are University of Rochester students or alumni, or who are partnered with one. It supports startups, research projects, and other early stage ventures. Projects that make strong progress may receive up to an additional $1,500 in follow on funding. Participants also receive training in systems thinking, pitching, and other key skills to help them strengthen and grow their ideas.
