Consulting and Finance Resume Books

Don’t miss out on this opportunity to get your resume in the hands of our alumni! Submit your career advisor reviewed resume through Handshake by Sunday, September 7th to be included in our alumni resume books.

Participation in the U of R  Resume Books are in your best interest. Resume Books are designed to provide recruiters and hiring managers with exclusive access to resumes of University of Rochester students who are actively seeking job or internship opportunities.  Only vetted employers who work closely with our Corporate Engagement team and the Greene Center will be sent the resume books.

Your resume will be included in a customized Resume Book if your profile criteria match the employer’s requests.

To be included in a customized Resume Book, follow these step-by-step instructions bellow to get started.

Follow the steps for success below:

  1. Review resume template that meets industry expectations.
  2. Get your resume ready to be reviewed by Application Tracking Systems, used by most banks and financial institutions, by utilizing Quinncia! Make sure to use your UofR e-mail when signing up.
  3. Make an appointment (in-person, Zoom) with a Career Advisor. Hannah Holland and Brad Rosenbaum are eager to meet with you!
  4. Research the industry and prepare for behavioral and technical interviews. Quinncia models asynchronous behavioral interviews used in most first-round interviews so practice using this tool!
  5. Connect with alumni through The Meliora Collective & LinkedIn.
  6. Submit resume to books on Handshake

Interested in finding work in the United States? This event is the first of a three-part series that will give you strategies to prepare for internship/job searches by navigating US culture norms. We will also discuss information about visa and work authorization status. This event will take place in Dewey Hall 2162.

Meliora Weekend: How to Break into Consulting, Banking, and Private Equity

Hear from alumni panelists, including Greg Parekh ’90, P’25, on strategies for applying to very competitive internships in consulting, banking, and private equity. Learn what they are looking for in candidates and how you can strengthen your application.

Professional Success Night with Alumni Networking

Join us to hear an expert presentation on navigating the workplace, make new alumni connections, and enjoy dinner and stories!  The Greene Center is pleased to host this lively evening with Dr. Jonathan Shipley to learn more about developing your professional communication and networking skills. This program is an opportunity to talk with other students and local alumni who are joining us to share their experience from the workplace – successes, missteps, and how they responded to them. 

Please note that this is a limited capacity event and alumni participants are volunteering their time to support you. By signing up for this program, you are committing to participate fully and arrive on time. If you no-show another student could lose the opportunity to attend and we hope that won’t happen.
