Center for Emergent Complexity in Biomaterials Symposium | Thursday, May 22, at Goergen Hall, Room 101

If you still plan to be in Rochester next Thursday, May 22, check out the CECB Biomaterials Symposium! Researchers across the university are invited to listen to four speakers who will cover topics from protein-based materials engineering and adaptive cephalopod-inspired materials to programmable DNA assembly and cellular mechanobiology. There will also be a post session for students and postdoctoral trainees – and lunch will be provided! The symposium is organized by the Center for Emergent Complexity in Biomaterials, a recipient of a Transdisciplinary Research Center Planning Grant.

Rochester Rotary Sunshine Camp | Rolling Applications

Looking for a paid summer job to boost your resume, gain new skills, and have an amazing experience? Sunshine Camp is hiring counselors and program staff, so come work with us this summer! Rochester Rotary Sunshine Camp is an all-inclusive, fully accessible summer camp for children and young adults with a wide range of abilities and experiences, and we are hiring counselors (to work our two-week overnight camp) and program staff members (to work all summer)!

Sunshine Camp involves two consecutive 1-week sessions. Most counselors work both sessions, but we welcome you to join us if you can only work one! In addition to the two weeks of camp, we hold a pre-camp orientation weekend for all staff. Counselors are paid $500 for each session worked, as well as $125 for attending orientation.

The schedule for sessions is as follows:

Camp and Orientation DatesMandatory Staff Orientation Part 1: June 14th – 15th
Mandatory Staff Orientation Part 2: July 5th – July 6th (right before camp)
Sunshine Camp Week 1: July 6th – July 11th
Sunshine Camp Week 2: July 13th – July 18th
