Join us for an evening with UR Trustee, Ed Hajim, author of On the Road Less Traveled and Island of the Four Ps, and previous chairman of the University of Rochester board. In recognition of his generosity, the University named the Edmund A. Hajim School of Engineering & Applied Sciences in his honor in 2009. Mr. Hajim will be sharing his perspectives on how to embrace curiosity early in your academic journey, build relationships, and begin to explore pathways that align with your interests and values. UR PreDoc Program | Applications Open March 15
The UR PreDoc program provides a 2-year longitudinal experiences with the goal of promoting exposure to, and interest in clinical medicine for undergraduate students in Rochester who identify from backgrounds that have been historically minoritized in medicine. In this program, you will receive mentorship from local senior physician leaders at URMC as well as local medical students, gain access to scholarly and career development opportunities, gain shadowing and research experiences, and learn more about the medical field in general! Summer Sustainability Fellows 2025 | Applications Due March 24
The 2025 Sustainability Community-Engaged Fellowship program of Sodus Bay Watch seeks four outstanding University of Rochester undergraduate fellows. We seek to build a multidisciplinary team committed to environmental sustainability, passionate about science learning, and enthusiastic about diverse scientific and artistic communication to promote environmental literacy and change. A team with a diverse background and skill set will ensure project success. Experience with art (using plastics collected during beach clean-up), videography, conducting scientific investigations (applying scientific methods, collecting and analyzing data)), science communication, and/or working with youth are welcome. Interns will work as a small cohort with their primary workspace being on campus.
The 8-week project pays a $5000 stipend for 40 hours/week 40 hours/week from June 4 through August 5, with the week of the July 1-4 off. Most work will happen between Monday and Friday, with the three exceptions of Saturdays, June 14, 21, and July 12. Housing is not included. Check out the application here.
Emergency Department Research Associate (EDRA) Fall 2025 Internships | Applications Due March 26
Are you interested in working in the Emergency Department? Or in gaining clinical experience? Check out the EDRA Program, open to undergraduate students of all years and majors! The Emergency Department Research Associate Program Fall 2025 Internship is structured as a four-credit course offered through the Department of Public Health which combines classroom instruction with hands-on experience in the Emergency Department. This is a great opportunity to develop competencies in clinical research! Students who successfully complete this course are also eligible to apply for a paid position as an ED Enroller through student employment as well.

UBMD Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine Clinical Research Internship Program | Applications Due April 14
UBMD Orthopedics and Sports Medicine is seeking a full time Clinical Research Intern to join our nationally recognized, highly productive clinical research team. As a research intern, you will work directly with orthopedic surgeons, residents, medical students, research scientists, coordinators, and research assistants to learn and contribute to numerous clinical research projects. Tasks include: collecting data, synthesizing literature, assisting the team with the implementation of multi-center clinical trials, performing musculoskeletal assessments, submitting data to national conferences, and participating in writing manuscripts and grant proposals.
The research intern will participate in educational activities to enhance applications to professional or medical school programs as well, which will include shadowing our clinical providers in the office and operating room, attending academic conferences and journal clubs. This program pays $40K for 40 hours/week and requires a BS degree in a health sciences-related field as well as a GPA 3.8 or above. Previous research experience is preferred, but not required.

Biochemistry Intern at Seagate Technology | Applications Due April 28
Seagate Research Group is seeking a motivated biochemistry intern who will develop and execute procedures for a variety of projects related to nucleotide ligation and/or oligo purification. The protocols under study would be in support of research related to using nucleic acids for data storage applications. The position is based at Seagate’s R&D site in Shakopee, MN, about 15 miles south of downtown Minneapolis. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Review primary literature to gain knowledge of different chemical nucleic acid ligation techniques and the suitability of these for different data storage or molecular compute applications.
- Select appropriate chemical methods to implement in Seagate’s biochemistry/biosensing applications.
- Perform benchtop experiments to prove developed concepts.
- Develop experimental protocols for transferring bench experiments to Seagate’s lab-on-a-chip.

Pharmacovigiliance Intern at Biogen | Applications Due April 30

Pharmacovigilance (PV) team plays a critical role in supporting our commitment to transform patient lives by focusing on patient safety, compliance and continuous improvement.
We are seeking a highly motivated intern that has an interest in Pharmacovigilance (PV) in the R&D environment within the biotech/pharma industry. This position provides an opportunity for inquisitive students to get hands on experience and working knowledge of PV regulations and guidance in a fast-paced environment. You will work within PV team to support areas including but not limited to Individual Case Safety Report (ICSR) Case Processing Oversight, Clinical Trial Safety, and aggregate safety reports. Biostatistics Intern at Biogen | Applications Due April 30
The Biostatistics Department in the Analytics and Data Sciences organization provides statistical support across Research and Development. The clinical statisticians in the biostatistics group collaborate with stakeholders from different disciplines to develop agile and robust clinical development plans and decision frameworks for portfolio of products encompassing early and late-stage development. They also provide statistical expertise and manage the activities for clinical programs to ensure valid and efficient study designs.
For the summer intern projects, you will require to read and synthesize key methodology papers, efficiently develop simulation code in R or other statistical package and explore results in a systematic way. Any new code should be documented and packaged in a user-friendly way, to encourage broader use in the department. A final technical write-up and presentation will be expected. LifeSci NYC Internship Program | Applications Due June 30
Now in its eighth year, the LifeSci NYC Internship Program invites college and graduate students (and recent grads) to apply for summer internship opportunities in science, tech, and business capacities. The program seeks to provide experience and training for students and recent graduates interested in pursuing careers in the life sciences industry. Host companies and organizations range from early-stage startups to large pharmaceutical and biotech firms to businesses that serve the industry in specific capacities, including marketing, public relations, or capital investment. Some opportunities are also available in companies in the food tech, climate tech, and biomaterials sectors.
