Attention All PhD Humanities & Social Sciences Students!
This message is to inform you that, while the CASC 504 course (PhD Exploring Careers & Internship Prep) is cancelled for Spring 2025, the InternPhD program for Summer 2025 is still happening! What’s even better news? We are now opening up the postings to any and all PhD students in Humanities and Social Sciences disciplines, regardless of whether or not you have taken the course previously! Thus, if you are looking for a PAID summer internship and are a PhD student in Humanities or Social Sciences disciplines, read on and apply by no later than Sunday, March 16 at 11:59PM EST in Handshake to any opportunity of interest!!
InternPhD is a competitive, paid summer internship program that provides academic-adjacent higher education experiences for PhD students in Humanities and Social Sciences designed to help broaden experiences and learn more about career pathways, opportunities and skillsets outside of faculty positions. Students who apply and are selected by an internship site through the traditional internship application process in this program will participate in a funded summer-long internship, working part-time (15-20 hours per week) in an internship site that will provide opportunities for skills development and learning.
Please note, there are still eligibility requirements that apply for InternPhD opportunities for Summer 2025, including:
- Applicants must be pursuing a PhD degree within a Humanities or Social Sciences discipline through the School of Arts & Sciences.
- In order to create equity and access for all PhD students in these disciplines, if you have already completed an internship through InternPhD, you will not be considered for additional InternPhD opportunities.
- All applications must be submitted by no later than Sunday, March 16 at 11:59 PM EST through Handshake.
- The application process is run the same as any internship, from submitting a resume and cover letter to the online application by the deadline, to being selected and participating in an interview by the internship site, to receiving an official offer letter by any internship site you have interviewed with, and finally having you select and accept the offer of the internship you have chosen (declining any other offers on the table).
- You can apply to more than one InternPhD opportunity this cycle – please read through each posting to learn more about the opportunity as well as the employer site to help you with your decision-making! We encourage you to also reach out to the employer if you have questions about the opportunity or their department.
