Hello Marketing & Creative Community,
We hope your first week back at classes is going well! Transitioning from a long hiatus can be challenging — please make sure to rest, eat well, and stay energetic so your body and mind are ready for success.
There have been updates to this week’s events compared to last week. Please review the list below with details on each event. For those interested in the job/internship opportunities, scheduling a time with a career advisor is recommended to discuss how you can prepare a competitive application.
Our Peer Career Advisors (PCAs) are also available for drop-in hours this semester on Tuesdays and Fridays from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM on the 4th floor of Dewey Hall. Visit them at your convenience without an appointment!
Have a great rest of your week; we look forward to seeing many of you at this Saturday’s Career Exploration Summit!

Featured Upcoming Events
January 25, 9:30am-3pm, Career Exploration Summit
Location: Feldman Ballroom – Douglass Commons, Various Breakout Rooms
Our inaugural January 25th Career Exploration Summit is an opportunity for first- and second-year students to connect with, learn from, and be inspired by alumni as they share narratives about how the University of Rochester shaped their career and life’s journey. Specifically, alumni will be sharing how they engaged in the campus community, what skills they discovered and nurtured, as well as details about their personal and academic experiences that helped shape the person they are now. Moreover, this summit supports the University’s strategic goals of retention, persistence, and on-time graduation.
Running concurrently with the morning alumni breakout sessions, the Greene Center will be offering quick career education circuits from 10:50am-noon. Topics will include 5-minute resume reviews, LinkedIn Photo Booth, and Handshake/Greene Center Alerts Lab. Additionally, our afternoon “Experiential Learning Fair” will offer students the opportunity to engage with interactive activities to jump start their exploration and pursuit of co-curricular experiential learning opportunities.
February 11, 6-7:30pm, Professional Success Night with Alumni Networking
Join the Greene Center for an enlightening and interactive evening as we explore professional communication and networking skills with Dr. Jonathan Shipley, Clinical Assistant Professor in the Simon School of Business and an experienced consultant from Idaho. This exclusive event offers a unique opportunity to connect with fellow students and local alumni who will share their workplace stories—both successes and lessons learned. Attire is required to be school spirit or business casual, no jeans or t-shirts allowed. Spaces are limited, so secure your spot early! Dr. Shipley’s insights promise to enrich our discussions on navigating professional challenges effectively. Don’t miss this chance to enhance your skills and expand your network in a supportive environment led by volunteers dedicated to your success.
