MCAT Information | Dates and Times Vary

For those of you planning to take the MCAT, check out these updates from AAMC for the coming calendar year. For more information, be sure to explore the official AAMC website as well.

  • MCAT Registration for January-June 2025 Dates are Open: You can now register for exam dates in the first half of the 2025 testing year (January-June). Registration for July-September dates will open in February. Visit this page for further information.
  • AAMC Fee Assistance Program: The deadline to apply for the AAMC Fee Assistance Program is Friday, Dec. 13, supporting documents will be accepted until Thursday, Dec.19. Please submit your application at least five business days in advance of when you would like to use the benefits. Benefits are not retroactive.
  • Dec. 10 Preparing for the MCAT Exam Webinar: Join the AAMC MCAT prep team on Tuesday, Dec. 10 at 2 p.m. ET for an overview of the AAMC MCAT Official Prep resources and tips on how to use them to create an effective study plan. Sign up here even if you cannot attend to receive the recording.

Summer Health Professions Internship Program (SHPEP) Applications Open! | Applications Due by February 5, 2025

The Summer Health Professions Education Program (SHPEP) is a free summer program for students to explore their interests in medicine, dentistry, nursing, optometry, pharmacy, physical therapy, public health, and more! The program takes place at our 11 partner institutions and offers students a chance to develop competencies for becoming successful applicants to health profession programs, plan academic journeys, get clinical exposure, and network. Students must have a minimum GPA of 2.5. To learn more, click here.

This year, the SHPEP application also includes the Minority Serving Institution Pathway Initiative (MSIPI). MSIPI is a free five-week summer enrichment program offering students an opportunity to engage in tailored programming at either a Native American-Serving Nontribal Institution (NASNTI) or a Historically Black College or University (HBCU). The program offers students a chance to develop competencies for becoming successful applicants to health profession programs, plan academic journeys, get clinical exposure, and network – just apply within the SHPEP application!

Bond Family Scholars Internships: Summer 2025 | Application Deadlines Vary

The 2025 Bond Scholars Summer Internship Program, funded by a gift from the Bond Family Foundation, connects University of Rochester Arts, Sciences, & Engineering students to internship opportunities with for-profit organizations in the Rochester region. This program allows students to gain valuable skills and experiences and create a Rochester-based network for post-graduation success.

In addition to securing a paid, full-time summer internship, accepted students will join a community of Bond Scholar interns, develop a network with all participating organizations, and participate in educational and social programming supported by the Greene Center. Internships are open now for applications in a variety of fields, so check out the many options! Research & Development Intern at Thermo Fisher Scientific | Application Due by December 6

Summer Internships in Mt. Vernon, IN at AstraZeneca | Applications Due by December 8

This is a paid, full time (40 hours/week) position at the AstraZeneca manufacturing facility located at 4601 Highway 62 East, Mt. Vernon, IN. Over the course of the summer 10 week summer program (from May 19, 2025 – July 25th, 2025) each intern will perform department specific day to day activities as assigned by their Mentor-Supervisor. Each intern will also be assigned a key project of which they will be responsible for leading, executing and reporting out on to Site Leadership and staff. Internship Mentors will guide and coach interns throughout the summer. Interns will also have the opportunity to job shadow and participate in various lunch and learns to gain a broad understanding of all functions at the Mt. Vernon site.

Roles fall under a broad variety of functional areas, so those interested in business operations, chemistry or biology, information technology, safety, health, and the environment, as well as engineering should check out the job posting here!

2025 Summer Associate Intern – Health Care (HEOR, Epidemiology, and Market Access) | Applications Due by December 31

Make an impact at Analysis Group, where we collaborate with our clients to develop and implement HEOR strategies to support pharmaceutical products throughout their life cycles. As a summer associate, you have the opportunity to work on complex business problems within an inclusive and collaborative environment. Summer associates can expect to work on multiple projects at a time, with responsibilities potentially including developing, designing, and conducting research studies to address our clients’ needs, performing quantitative and qualitative research, and collaborating with academic and in-house experts, amongst others.

Intern, Oncology Epidemiology at Oracle | Application Due by December 31

Oracle Health is looking to hire one intern to work part-time during the spring semester. The role will be remote and will begin in February or March of 2025 and requires applicants to be currently enrolled in a graduate program in epidemiology. The Intern, Epidemiology will focus on updating the Cerner Enviza Epi Database through extensive literature reviews and statistical analysis. You will also be able to contribute to the updates of the Patient Metrics module, as well as be involved in team discussions. Support of custom projects may also be included. WNY Sophomore Externship Experience (SEE) | Applications Due January 31, 2025

The WNY Sophomore Externship Experience (SEE) program is a program that allows local college sophomores the opportunity to be matched with one of Western New York’s top companies for a summer externship through the University of Buffalo (UB), even if you’re not a UB student. You’ll earn $4,000 (and course credit) as you gain experience and explore career paths, with opportunities throughout WNY! University of Rochester students need to have attended high school in one of these eight counties to be eligible: Allegany, Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Erie, Genesee, Niagara, Orleans and Wyoming.

This is a great opportunity for students to gain experience, build their network, develop new skills, and see how they can make a difference in WNY. All majors are welcome, so check out the website for more information – and to apply! Priority is given to anyone who applies by January 24, 2025. Business applications will be accepted on a rolling basis until all spots are filled.

In support of Planned Parenthood of Central and Western New York (PPCWNY)’s mission, the Bilingual Outreach & Education Specialist has responsibility for understanding and communicating information about a wide range of sexuality and reproductive health issues working with a variety of individual at all age levels. His/her primary focus will be in the development and delivery of outreach programs geared towards reproductive health awareness and healthy relationships.
