Alumni Connections with University of Rochester Athletics – Karen Durkin ’87

Join us for a virtual discussion with Karen Durkin ’87, a basketball and swimming alumna with a lifelong love of golf, as she shares her career journey. With over 20 years of experience in business strategy, marketing, sponsorship, and fundraising, she has held leadership roles at renowned organizations like the Ladies Professional Golf Association, the National Hockey League, and the Women’s Sports Foundation. Karen’s accomplishments have earned her recognition from publications such as Shape magazine’s “Women Who Shape the World” alongside Michelle Obama and Sports Illustrated’s “Most Influential Women in Golf.” Karen is now president of The Durkin Agency, a women owned marketing communications firm.

Nov. | Express Interest for Summer 2025 Sophomore Discovery Fellowship Program – North Carolina, at Wells Fargo

The Sophomore Discovery Fellowship Program is designed to provide students, who have completed their sophomore year of college, with an in-depth understanding of the day-to-day responsibilities of full-time employees across a variety of roles within Wells Fargo. Fellows receive comprehensive professional and educational experience through networking, job shadowing, and other engagement opportunities paired with a summer capstone project and presentation. In addition, the experience offers organized activities that afford fellows engagement in intentional programming, exposure to various business functions, opportunities for career exploration, and networking events with other fellows across various businesses.

Nov. 16 | Applications due for US Tax Reporting and Analyst Intern at BCG (Boston Consulting Group)

Student will be required to perform various tasks within the tax department including, but not limited to, assistance with preparation of US and State corporate income tax returns, prepare annual reports and assist with support for both domestic and international tax audits. In addition, there are a variety of on-going projects, often working with other teams within finance both in the US and Foreign offices, that will require support. Student will be trained on and use Oracle general ledger system, CorpTax tax preparation software, Trello Calendar, Slack, Palette, and SharePoint.
