Navigating Fall Career Week: Prep Session

Fall Career Week is coming soon! In order to set yourself up for success, we encourage you to attend this workshop to get the “inside scoop” on all of the exciting activities that will be happening throughout the week of September 30-October 4. 

The Greene Center will host our annual Employer/Student Diversity Networking Event, our Fall Career Expo, which targets the engineering, finance, tech, business, and data science industries, a virtual career fair, on-campus interviews and more! Learn how to prepare for these events, pick up tips about meeting with employers, and what your next steps should be after participating in Fall Career Week.

Business and Banking Bootcamp

Saturday September 21, 10am-1:30pm Gowen Room, Wilson Commons

Have you ever thought about working on “The Street”? Have you ever wondered what careers in business and banking might look like? Have you ever thought about a career in business, banking or finance, and want to know more? Then this exploratory Bootcamp is the right event for you! Come join us for an opportunity to interact with and hear from alumni across many business and banking roles. Learn some useful tips related to working in business and banking, and applicable skills that can be applied to many relevant fields. This session will include a fun, interactive panel with alumni currently working in business and banking, some useful excel tips and training, and an opportunity to learn how to evaluate investment opportunities and network with current bankers. No prior preparation or knowledge is required, just an appetite for learning more about business and banking and an actual appetite (Food will be provided).

Your resume will be included in a customized Resume Book if your profile criteria match the employer’s requests.

To be included in a customized Resume Book, follow these step-by-step instructions bellow to get started.

Follow the steps for success below:

  1. Review resume template that meets industry expectations.
  2. Get your resume ready to be reviewed by Application Tracking Systems, used by most banks and financial institutions, by utilizing Quinncia! Make sure to use your UofR e-mail when signing up.
  3. Make an appointment (in-person, Zoom) with a Career Advisor. Hannah Holland and Brad Rosenbaum are eager to meet with you!
  4. Research the industry and prepare for behavioral and technical interviews. Quinncia models asynchronous behavioral interviews used in most first-round interviews so practice using this tool!
  5. Connect with alumni through The Meliora Collective & LinkedIn.
  6. Submit resume to books on Handshake

Register for CASC 104: Designing Your Life

No matter what stage you’re at in your journey or what interests you may have, the Greene Center’s exploratory 1-credit course, CASC 104: Designing Your Life, could be a great option for you. The course is specially designed to provide a little more structure and support for you to explore your interests, to make sense of the resources and opportunities available at Rochester, and to begin crafting career goals that are unique to your interests and experiences. A Health Professions-specific and Engineering section will be offered as well. With fall semester registration coming up, we encourage students interested in this course to speak with their college advisors. Learn more about the course here.

Our Origination and Advisory business provides the full range of advisory and financing products and services of a leading global investment bank. Our clients include large-cap and mid-cap corporates, financial institutions, governments, government agencies and financial sponsors. 

September 27 | Applications due for Deutsche Bank Internship Program – Chief Financial Office

Our interns are given the opportunity to learn about our business from different viewpoints, giving you a career advantage. You will work on current projects and develop an understanding of our culture, methods and systems by collaborating with a broad range of colleagues in order to provide accurate financial results and insights. The internship is an ideal way of finding out whether a career in Finance meets your needs and aspirations.

This program is constructed of 2 rotations across various areas of Finance. Each rotation will provide insight into one of Finance’s many distinct core responsibilities. Finance activities in which you could work include: financial and regulatory reporting, treasury and liquidity reporting, maintenance of the firm’s official books and records, as well as any related special projects.

The Strategy and Management Summer Program is our 10-week Internship. This provides an exclusive preview of the elite, two-year development training program (recently recognized in 2023 with a Brandon Hall Group Gold Award for most innovative or unique talent acquisition program), which prepares teammates to become future corporate leaders at Bank of America by providing you with direct experience in Digital Technologies, FinTech, Strategy, Innovation, and Management
