Some theatre schools offer a bachelor of fine arts in drama or theatre that are conservatory-style in nature, for the purpose of preparing you for work in theatre-related professions immediately upon graduation. Other schools are more open-ended in their curriculum, and may not be as thorough in formally guiding you into a future career.
Either way, if you’re considering theatre as an academic focus, or you’re a current student or recent graduate, you need to have a broad understanding of what you can do with this degree. You have more career options than you might imagine, and it’s because of the skills you’ll learn as a student.
